Archery and the Hunger Games

Today, archery is becoming a popular sport in the world because the Hunger Games movie has influenced everyone. I think the archery was not so popular nor a famous sport before. The Hunger Games that has girl main character, Katniss. She is very good at using a bow and arrow and brave. Many people are being inspired by her.  There are some reasons that archery is becoming popular.

 First, many people are longing to be Katniss in the movie of the Hunger Games, Katniss is beautiful and charismatic girl. The arrow she shoots looks beautiful and powerful. For instance, many people have become to play archery since the movie came up. Hunting departments have signed up for archers and girls. Also archery is good for people who are not so good at sports because the archery is a kind of non athletic sport and independent sport, compared with track and field, football, basketball, or something like that.

 Second, the Olympic season is coming up. The hunger Games movie and Olympics are similar a little, for example, the mood is Romanic. Archery is also concluded in the Olympic contest so I think the archery will be focused by many more people than before. There will be a lot of effects on the economy.

 In conclusion, the Hunger Games movie especially Katniss inspires a lot of people. The movie was a kind of a sad or violent movie, but that is makeing good effect.

The Hunger Games tour

The Hunger Games’ 4-Day Itinerary information

There is a tour of The Hunger Games in North Carolina. This tour has 4 days. We go to the places that are film locations of The Hunger Games.

 Day1, we can go to head of Charlotte and drive an hour north west to Hildebran, where the Henry River Manufavturing Co, once turned out fine combed cotton yarns, in which Katniss spent years learning the skills that helped her survive. Begin our own training with wilderness survival courses and workshop.

 Day 2, we can order breakfast from Early Girl Eatery and stop by Malaprops Bookstore. We can have food as well as the Tributes during training, and prepare to enter the Arena.

 Day 3, we can go to the moderate town of Shelby, in which is from the heart of District 12 to the Capitol.

 Day 4, we can explore the Capitol, which turns out to be Haymitch’ kind of place.

The Hunger Games opinion

I watched The Hunger Games movie. It was so interesting and emotional. It was like ancient Rome but it was also cyber story. The movie director mixed ancient and current days very much. I also watched the movie of Battle Royale and I love it so I felt Battle Royale was a little more cruel and interesting than the movie of the Hunger Games. Both had characters almost same age, but there were differences of drawing. I felt some violent scenes of The Hunger Games were light and short, maybe for children because they will become scary. That Battle Royale left a disagreeable aftertaste very much. That means the movie of the Hunger Games was made a little more for being popular. However the story of the Hunger Games was very good. It was easy to understand, had good actors and good actresses, good sounds, and expectation of the next movie. This movie focused on the love of Katniss and Peeta, so I think many people will like this movie. Katniss’ brave will make many people impress.  In short, this movie was very good but I like the book better than the movie.

Spring Break

   I went to Seattle with my 7 friends by train. It was long trip. The weather was very nice.  We leave Salem at 3:30 pm and we got to Seattle at 10:30 pm. We were tired out so we did nothing to do on the first day. We put at hostel because it was very cheap. I’ve never put up hostel. The hostel was more terrible than I imagined. It was small, strange smell, and there were only beds in the room.  We were shocked, but luckily, we were only men group so we decided to enjoy this hostel.  Next day, we went to Pike Place. There were a lot of unique things and unique people. It was near the sea so it had a great view.  We went to the first Starbucks. There were a lot of people on the line and too crowded. I’ve never seen the Starbucks that has a lot of people. It was hard to even take an order. Next, we went to Seattle Center by monorail. It has a lot of amusements, but our target was not them. We wanted to have Sushi. We find out Sushi shop and we had it. The Sushi shop was managed by Japanese, so it was great taste. I should have eaten more. Lastly, we went to the Safco Field that was Seattle Mariners’ home stadium. I played baseball so I was so excited. Mariners was in Japan at that time, so we just looked the stadium. We bought the tickets to get into the stadium. We could get into the stadium. It was sooo amazing like a dream. There was a guide, so we can walk around every corner of the stadium. If I was younger, I would like to play baseball there. Though it was a short trip, I had a great time. I felt about America more.

Pow Wow

I went to watch the Pow Wow.  I have heard it is famous dance. At first, I’m not interested in this dance at all and I have never seen this kind of dance. When I entered the hall, I felt special atmosphere. There were many people of different age from younger to older. Many people wore colorful and cultural costume with wings and bells. A few people painted their face. Soon after I got in the hall, opening ceremony started. A man offered like stick of incense. It smelled unique. I didn’t like this smell. People made an oval circle. Many people in the circle smelled this stick of incense as if it is good for their body. Dancing started. They stepped twice on one leg. They were moving without limit. A group of men sang with high-pitched tone and beat a drum. It got violent more and more. At first, I think it is strange but it looks getting cooler little by little. Their dance was very attractive. Their high pitch voice matched their dance. During their dance, I went to see the stores which sell decorations of Pow Wow. There were bracelets, earrings, and strange things that I can’t explain. I touched fur of rabbit. It was very soft. A few minutes later, the dancing contest started. There were maybe some groups. Each group has three representations who are good at dancing. They danced very powerful and attractive. I was inspired by them. I was very excited. During the dance contest, I left the hall. I felt they are proud of their dance. It was my pleasure to feel their spirit.
